BIKE WALK MACON SPRING INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a talented, motivated individual for our spring internship position. The Bike Walk Macon intern will gain firsthand experience in all aspects of bicycle and pedestrian advocacy from the organization that is leading the movement to make biking and walking a safe and convenient option for transportation and recreation for ALL Maconites.

Tasks: The Bike Walk Macon intern will work under the executive director, but would also collaborate with BWM board members and volunteers.
- Policy: Working alongside our staff and board of directors as we advocate for transportation & infrastructure improvements across Macon-Bibb County – these efforts include our Complete Streets initiatives, managing bike and pedestrian counts, and also assisting at the various classes and lectures we plan to offer throughout the community.
- Operations: Assisting our staff with the daily duties of running a burgeoning advocacy organization.
- Communications: Collecting and reporting on media / drafting interesting and unique blog posts / writing and editing multiple platforms to tell a story, including SquareSpace, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, video and audio.
- Events: Engaging our current & future supporters by working on event logistics and volunteer management.
Hours: Internship would take place in our Bike Walk Macon office at 338 Poplar Street and intern would be present in the office for a minimum of 10 hours weekly. Days and times (within 9 am-5 pm) are flexible.
Compensation: Intern will receive a $300 monthly stipend. We also remain committed to providing the intern with invaluable training and experience, references, and personal networking opportunities. Additionally, we are happy to work with any academic requirements the intern may have to help them earn course credit for their efforts.
Timeline: Interns are expected to make a three-month commitment.
