Rachel Hollar umana | Executive director

Rachel Hollar Umana is the founder and executive director of Bike Walk Macon, where she works to make bicycling and walking safe, fun, and convenient for everyone in Macon-Bibb County through advocacy, education initiatives, and community events.

Rachel is a Mercer University graduate with a B.A. in Psychology, Social Entrepreneurship, and Spanish. Currently, she is pursuing a certificate in Sustainable Transportation from the University of Washington. Inspired by a car-free year teaching English in Thailand, Rachel established Bike Walk Macon in July 2015 with the support of the 8 80 Cities Emerging City Champions Fellowship program.

She is a 2021 Georgia Trend 40 Under 40 awardee, 2021 Georgia Walking College Fellow, 2018 Leadership Macon graduate, a certified League Cycling Instructor, and serves on the Macon Transit Authority Board, OneMacon Steering Committee, Pedestrian Safety Review Board, and the MATS Citizens Advisory Committee. She lives in InTown Macon with her husband Jon and dog Roxy and loves that fun, food, and friends are all within walking and biking distance.

Kaylee pruitt | EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

Kaylee Pruitt’s extensive background in event planning and outreach will assist in bringing fun, interactive, and educational events to the Bike Walk Macon community.

A Macon, GA native, Kaylee Pruitt joined Bike Walk Macon as a volunteer in the Fall of 2019. Since then, she has carved out a name for herself by organizing activity partners for Open Streets Macon, location partners for Shamrock ‘n’ Ride Scavenger Hunt, hosting virtual Bike Walk Macon videos, and joining BWM for many projects, including painting Macon's first green bike lanes on Poplar St. She received the “Volunteer of the Year” award at Bike Walk Macon’s 2021 Mobility Maker Awards. She is always in awe of how passionate Maconites can be and is looking forward to engaging in a community that will better its city through Bike Walk Macon's initiatives.

Kaylee was not always in love with bike riding. After purchasing a mountain bike at 22, she never quite enjoyed it. Even though she lived downtown for 6 years, she chose just to walk. She eventually moved to Midtown and started thinking about jumping back on two wheels. After joining the BWM team in 2019, she traded her mountain bike in for a bright orange cruiser and has never looked back. When not at Bike Walk Macon, Kaylee can be found hanging out with her husband, Justin, enjoying a beer, leisurely biking around Downtown, or getting silly on the dance floor.
