 Free Fare DAY WITH MTA!

FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2025 | ALL DAY

Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) is providing FREE bus rides to all passengers from a bus stop or the Transfer Center in Downtown Macon.

It's not always possible to bike or walk the entire commute, so let MTA help you complete your trip. No bus pass needed. Hop on or load your bike on an MTA bus bike rack and board the bus (including paratransit) to claim unlimited FREE rides on May 30!

Macon Bagels | 8 TO 9 AM

In celebration of Macon Car Free Day, we’re hosting a breakfast meetup at Macon Bagels located at 470 Third Street. Drop in anytime between 8:00 to 9:00 am and grab a breakfast sandwich, drink a quick cup of joe, or just mingle with fellow commuters. Very casual, wear whatever you commute in. Car Free Day pledgers get a free hot or iced coffee!

After the meet-up, join the Bike Walk Macon team for Ride Free Day with MTA!


Margaritas in Mercer Village | 11:40 AM TO 1:30 PM

Hop on the bus with Bike Walk Macon for a lunch outing! No fare required on Free Fare Day. Meet at Transfer Station (200 Cherry St) at 11:40 AM to ride together to Margaritas in Mercer Village - return by 1:30 PM. Please note that our arrival time may vary, and we may arrive earlier depending on the duration of the meal.


Churchills on Cherry | 5 TO 7 PM

Let’s celebrate everything we’ve achieved during Bike Walk Month and Car Free Day! Keep the momentum going - bike or walk to Churchill’s on Cherry (577 Cherry St) to connect with fellow commuters and advocates who care about active transportation and creating safer, more accessible streets for all. We’re hanging out from 5 to 7 PM on Car Free Day.
