Kaylee pruitt | Executive Director

Kaylee Pruitt serves as the Executive Director of Bike Walk Macon, leading the organization’s mission to make bicycling, walking, and multimodal transportation safe, accessible, and practical options for all Maconites. Drawing on her extensive background in event planning, community engagement, and nonprofit leadership, Kaylee oversees Bike Walk Macon’s advocacy initiatives, public programs, strategic partnerships, and organizational growth.

A proud Macon native, Kaylee began her journey with Bike Walk Macon as a volunteer in 2019. She joined the organization full-time in 2021 as Education and Engagement Manager before stepping into the role of Executive Director in 2026. Her passion for community involvement and transportation advocacy has grown through her work with Bike Walk Macon, reinforcing her dedication to promoting the importance of safe and accessible transportation options for everyone.

She is a certified League Cycling Instructor, represents bicycle and pedestrian interests on the Macon Area Transportation Study Citizens Advisory Committee, serves on the Pedestrian Safety Review Board, and Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority Board, and is a current fellow with the America Walks Walking College. Outside of Bike Walk Macon, she serves on the Bragg Jam Board and as Chair of the Downtown Macon Community Association. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Justin, reading fantasy, catching her favorite bands on tour, and leisurely exploring Macon’s streets by bike.

charity lucas | Education and engagement manager

Charity Lucas serves as Bike Walk Macon’s Education and Engagement Manager. She has collaborated on several past traffic calming projects as a volunteer and artist before joining the team full-time in 2026.

Charity is a proud Middle Georgian whose passion for community and service continues to shape her work across the Greater Macon area. Raised in Middle Georgia, Charity has always believed in investing her time and talents where her roots run deepest.

Beyond her professional role, Charity is an active community leader dedicated to the vibrancy and continued growth of Macon. She serves on the NewTown Macon Main Street Board, contributing to efforts that enhance downtown development and economic vitality. She is also a board member for Bragg Jam, supporting the arts and celebrating the region’s rich musical culture. Additionally, Charity lends her insight and experience to the Leadership Macon Advisory Board, helping cultivate and guide the next generation of community leaders.

At home, Charity shares life with her husband, Drew, a talented drummer who teaches and performs with various bands throughout the region. Together, they embrace Macon’s dynamic arts scene and the strong sense of connection that makes Middle Georgia such a special place to live and work.

rudy mendes | EDUCATION Instructor

Rudy Mendes is the education program coordinator, bringing over 20 years of expertise in arts, teaching, and athletics. He teaches a variety of educational classes focusing on bike and pedestrian safety, traffic laws, and more.

Rudy's professional background in visual fine arts complements his lifelong passion for fitness, which plays a central role in his lifestyle. With extensive experience as a teacher in general fitness and contemporary dance, he has successfully engaged diverse audiences from adolescents to retirees. Rudy is certified as a League Cycling Instructor and also certified in CPR and first aid. He has contributed artistically to several of Bike Walk Macon’s traffic calming projects through painted designs.

Beyond his work at Bike Walk Macon, Rudy enjoys playing pickleball, cycling long distances, and teaching dance classes alongside his wife Carolyn.


SOPHIE ROSEN | FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR

Sophie Rosen is the Fundraising Coordinator for Bike Walk Macon, where she works to support the organization’s financial goals that advocate for a safer and more mobile Macon-Bibb County. 

A true Maconite, Sophie has spent her whole life here apart from her time in Athens, where she earned her BBA in Economics from The University of Georgia. She is currently pursuing her MPA emphasis in Emergency Management at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Sophie grew up as a Girl Scout, earning her Gold Award in 2015, which instilled her love to help her community from a young age. 

Sophie actively volunteers for the American Red Cross, Temple Beth Israel, and Daybreak Resource Center. She is certified in CPR, Narcan, and Stop the Bleed training. In her spare time, she enjoys playing pickleball and volleyball with friends, thrifting for new books, watching the Braves, and traveling abroad to new places.
