Bring your bike for a behind-the-scenes look at the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail with Bill Causey, retired Macon-Bibb County engineer, NewTown Macon consultant, and trail expert. You’ll ride through the newest sections of the trail and hear firsthand stories about how it was built, the challenges along the way, and what’s coming next.
This special tour also includes an exclusive off-bike walk into the newest section of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail north of Amerson River Park. Macon-Bibb County recently purchased 210 acres in this area, and you’ll be among the first to see it before construction begins and hear about plans for the trail’s future.
Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk for about 1.5 hours. This is a unique opportunity to go beyond the trail and get an insider look at one of Macon’s most significant public space investments.
