Bike Walk Macon Names Kaylee Pruitt as New Executive Director
Bike Walk Macon is pleased to announce that Kaylee Pruitt, currently serving as its Education and Engagement Manager, has been selected as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective May 20, 2026.
Pruitt has served as an integral member of the Bike Walk Macon team since 2021, where she has demonstrated a strong passion for community engagement, mobility advocacy, and creating safer streets for all. Her long-term experience with the organization, combined with her commitment to Macon-Bibb County, makes her uniquely prepared to lead Bike Walk Macon into its next chapter.
As Education and Engagement Manager, Pruitt has played a key role in advancing community programs, strengthening partnerships, coordinating events, and supporting efforts that make it safer and easier for people to walk, bike, and roll throughout our community.
“I am incredibly honored to step into this role and continue serving an organization that means so much to me,” said Pruitt. “Over the last decade, Bike Walk Macon has made a lasting impact on our community, and I’m excited to build on that momentum alongside our staff, board, partners, and supporters.”
Pruitt also recognized former Executive Director and Founder Rachel Umana for her leadership and support: “Rachel has been a wonderful mentor and has set me up for success in so many ways. I’m deeply thankful for her guidance, dedication, and the strong foundation she leaves behind.”
“Kaylee was elected by our Board of Directors to serve as Interim Executive Director after Umana’s departure, and we are thrilled to welcome her into the full role of Executive Director. Kaylee has already demonstrated a deep commitment to our mission, strong leadership, and a genuine passion for serving our community,” said Renee Corwine, Bike Walk Macon Board President. “Her experience with the organization and vision for the future make her the right person to lead Bike Walk Macon into its next chapter. We are excited to support her as she continues building a safer, healthier, and more connected Macon for everyone.”
The Bike Walk Macon Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Pruitt following the recommendation of the hiring committee.
