Macon’s Big Bike Ride 2025: Thank You, Macon
Our second Big Bike Ride reminded us what this community can do. More than 175 volunteers, riders, and after-party supporters showed up and filled the streets with so much energy and sent a clear message: Macon-Bibb is ready for safer, more connected places to bike and walk.
This year’s ride was especially meaningful. We gathered to honor the legacy of Josh Rogers, one of our founding board members and a steady voice for walkable neighborhoods and the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. We were grateful to have his family join us and help lead the ride.
We also spent time highlighting projects tied to Josh’s vision. Throughout the evening, we heard updates from Alex Morrison, Bill Causey, Commissioner Seth Clark, and Weston Stroud about progress already underway and what’s coming next. Their updates showed that real momentum is building, and community support is a big part of why these projects are moving forward.
Thanks to you, we raised more than $5,500 for Bike Walk Macon’s mission. And every Trailblazer beer poured at Fall Line Brewing Co. supported the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail - Trailblazer is still on tap until it runs out, and every pour helps move the trail forward.
We’re grateful for the partners who made this year’s ride possible:
Otis Redding Center for the Arts • Robins Financial Credit Union • St. Joseph’s Catholic School • Thomson Bike Parts • Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United • Stephen Cook Photo • Bike Tech • Fall Line Brewing Co.
And a special thank-you to our Big Bike Ride Ambassadors:
Seth Clark • Dsto Moore • Elizabeth Schorr • Bill Causey • Jessica Walden & Jamie Weatherford
Keep the Momentum Going
We also saw a big boost of support for our 10-Year Manifesto. Many riders added their names, and it’s encouraging to watch that list grow! We’re still working toward our goal, and every signature strengthens our call for safer streets, better trails, improved transit connections, and a transportation system that puts people first. You can still sign on here.
Thank you again to everyone who rode with us and celebrated. Your support keeps this work moving and helps build a Macon where everyone can get around safely and comfortably.
